Soggiorno linguistico in Irlanda

Un gruppo di alunni delle classi 1BLL e 1CLL ha trascorso una settimana in Irlanda, nella città di Dún Laoghaire. Ecco il loro racconto. Qui i materiali prodotti

We took part in a week-long stage in the coastal town of Dún Laoghaire, Ireland, from June 15 to 22, 2025. This experience allowed us to improve our English skills, discover Irish culture, and gain independence away from home. We stayed with local host families, experiencing daily life firsthand.
The families were welcoming and kind; despite some cultural differences such as food and schedules, everyone adapted well and made the most of the experience. Mornings were dedicated to studying at the DLTC Language School, where lessons were divided among grammar, Irish culture, and practical projects such as podcasts or street interviews. Afternoons were reserved for cultural activities and guided tours: from central Dublin to Dalkey Castle, from the National Gallery to the Archaeological Museum, with excursions to Howth and Kilkenny.
Among the most appreciated activities were Irish dancing workshops, cliff walks, and treasure hunts in town. During the stage, we learned to use public transport, communicate in English in different contexts, and work together, creating a strong group spirit.
The experience was formative both linguistically and personally, leaving all of us with unforgettable memories of Irish culture, hospitality, and new friendships.

Our thoughts ….
Riccardo Puricelli 1B LL

I had a really exciting week in Ireland. We had the opportunity to  visit a lot of famous places and we learned about Irish culture. I found this experience really enriching and interesting , but also funny. The Irish teachers were competent, original and engaging. Our trips, also because of our guides, were interesting and not tiring and I enjoyed all of them. Thanks also to the free-time moments we had, I enjoyed every place we visited and I always had a great time. I was hosted by Samantha Winterlich. She was really kind, hospitable and helpful, and she made this experience even better.

Maria Vittoria Cavaleri 1B LL
I think it was a great exchange experience and I would do it again. I felt good with my host family because they were kind, helpful and funny with me and my friend Alessia, who was in my same house. I also liked the English lessons that we did and all the places we visited. I enjoyed it so much this week.

Ilaria Granata 1B LL

It was an unforgettable experience, very funny and very interesting. This was very important to join more with my classmates and to try new things. The cities were very beautiful and interesting, my host family was very kind and helpful. Me and my friend Cecilia were happy and grateful for this experience. The food was different from the Italian one but we adapted and enjoyed it anyway. Dublin was magnificent and very expensive. It was very beautiful and I advise everyone to do it and try this experience.

Aurora Pirovano 1B LL

It was a beautiful and important experience. I had a great time with my host family, everyone was very kind and helpful. The lessons were all interesting but I especially liked the part about visiting the city. Dublin was amazing. Compared to Italy there are some differences but despite this I had a lot of fun and I am very happy to have had this experience.

Pisoni Alyssa 1B LL
It was a beautiful and tiring experience, I had a lot of fun, especially in visiting things, the school was also very interesting, I found myself well with the host family, they were welcoming and kind.Unlike Italy the streets are much cleaner, there is much more color and music in the streets

Fotia Cecilia 1B LL

I really enjoyed this week, especially because we had a very rich experience. In fact, we had the chance to discover Irish culture and cuisine, as well as the many facets that the Irish people have to offer. I hope I will return to Ireland because it is a very special place.

Alessia Duchini 1B LL

I liked this experience very much, the host family was great and the school was very interesting. During this week I felt really good, we visited a lot of wonderful places and we spent a special time in Ireland. I think that I’d do this exchange again, because it’s a very important experience to do with your classmates. Ireland is also a beautiful country and people are kind, I loved this week!

Alice Bruschetti 1B LL

This experience was beautiful. The host family was very welcoming and nice, the lessons at school were very interesting and the teachers were good at explaining. Places and cities were very beautiful. I liked the nature that I saw when I went for a walk. This week was tiring but at the same time wonderful.

Riccardo Bestetti 1B LL

The week in Ireland was very interesting and also fun despite the days of walking for hours and hours under the sun... but it was definitely worth it! The lessons with the Irish teachers with whom we learned new little things were also very fun.

Pietro Viganò 1B LL

For me personally this experience has been a great way to see what it feels like to spend some time with my friends, in a place that is not our homeland, to learn culture, habits and other points that are worth mentioning and to practice with the English language. Other than that, it has also been an opportunity to speak to people of the other class, and I managed to befriend some of them. I enjoyed every single second of this fantastic journey that unfortunately lasted only 7 days.

Celeste Lucina Crespi 1B LL
This experience was amazing, I had a lot of fun with my classmates and teachers. In my host family they were all very kind, sweet and welcoming and so it was a pleasure to meet them. The lessons we had were interesting and the places we visited were beautiful. Even though it was tiring, it was also funny. That’s why I recommend this experience to everyone.

Rachele Piuri 1B LL

I think this was a wonderful experience that helped me to improve my English and meet new people. We had a lot of fun and we visited amazing places. The family was really kind and sweet and I had a great time with them. The teachers were all really nice and their lessons were interesting and funny. I learned new things while having fun with my classmates. I personally loved this week in Ireland.

Pietro Piras 1B LL

Really great experience.
My english Improved a lot, the teachers were helpful and nice and I learnt new habits and cultures very different from ours. If I get a new chance like this one, I won’t probably waste it.

Gabriele Mennone 1B LL

I think that this experience was amazing. We visited a lot of things that I didn't know about. The teacher was very very kind and thanks to them my English has improved a lot.

Marco Fumiani 1B LL

It was a wonderful experience. We visited incredible places and I realised how important the use of the English language is to communicate with people from all over the world, an experience that I would repeat without thinking twice.

Marco Mirabile 1B LL
During this stage in Ireland we did several activities, such as a treasure hunt, a trip along the coast and even a hike. It was really nice and fun. We also visited some museums which were very interesting. Me and another guy were hosted by two elderly people. The house was fine, we had a room just for us. The food was kind of tasteless, but we got used to it. The two hosts were really kind. I had a lot of fun at school. We did many events – someone even won candies! There were three teachers: one for grammar, one for Irish culture, and one with whom we made a podcast about Irish history. At the start it was hard to locate the right bus for school (in fact, on the first day some of us arrived fifteen minutes late), but then I figured it out and it wasn’t a
problem anymore.

Alessia Provani 1C LL
I think that this experience is the best that I’ve ever done. I learnt a lot, especially how to live in another state, with another culture and without my parents. In Ireland I lived the best week of my life: I visited a beautiful country, met new friends and understood a different way of living life. I really recommend this experience to everyone because it is something that stays with you.

Davide Bogni Ferrante 1C LL
My study holiday in Dún Laoghaire was unforgettable. I improved my English, discovered a new culture, and made friendships that I hope will last a long time. The experience helped me grow more independent and confident, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in learning English in a fun and immersive way.

Viola Lamongesse & Vanessa Meloni 1C LL
The language stay in Dun Laoghaire was one of the best experiences we have had, both for the beautiful place and for the company of the host family, classmates and teachers. We had fun and put ourselves on the line. We learned many things such as taking the bus alone, which is useful in everyday life, and it’s also a great way to socialize with new people and practice our English.

Alessia Parachini 1C LL
My first trip to Ireland was fantastic. I got to see so many things about the history of Ireland. It was fun being with my classmates and enjoying beautiful memories. I loved the fact that we were in a host house and got to know how they lived their days. I think that I liked most when we went to Howth: the landscape and the view were unique.

Giulia Patella & Cammalleri Bianca 1C LL
The language stage we did was a wonderful experience: the lessons were very engaging, interesting and above all useful, we improved a lot in pronunciation, confidence and in general in the use of the language, the afternoon activities were very well organised and the places visited were carefully chosen. The host family was very kind and helpful, the house was very clean and even the food they
prepared for us was delicious. The people we met were all very nice and it was really beautiful to interact with them and learn about a new culture. We believe that this experience helped us a lot to become more independent, more fluent in speaking a foreign language and above all it improved the relationship between us and between the teachers who accompanied us. It was truly a fantastic week.

Greata Scalmato 1C LL
The trip to Ireland was a beautiful and very interesting experience. I learned about a new culture, different from mine. The places we visited were really beautiful. It was also a great chance to meet new people and get to know the ones I already knew. I really recommend this kind of trip to everyone.

Sofia Tramonto 1C LL
During this week I made new friends, not only from my class, but also from the other class. It was nice to get to know people better and share this experience together. This trip was a great experience. I improved my English, visited beautiful places, and had fun with my friends. The sunny weather made everything even better. I will always remember this week!

Arbore Giorgia 1C LL
Our trip to Ireland was a beautiful and unforgettable experience. We had so much fun together, with laughs, photos, and special moments. We visited many interesting places, including lots of castles and charming cities. Every day was full of emotions and new discoveries. This experience helped us grow, become even closer, and learn about a different culture. It’s a memory we will always carry in our hearts.

Aurora Cisotto 1C LL
I liked this experience because I learned to live and get by in another language and totally alone. I got along very well with both the teachers and the host family, with the group united with the other class there was a good harmony and a united group was created.

Sofia Pupo 1C LL
In my opinion this week in Ireland was very nice but above all constructive, the school helped me a lot to improve my English and the family I was with helped me to improve my pronunciation and I had a lot of fun.

Giulia Broglia 1C LL
I went on a one-week study holiday in Ireland. I attended an English course in the morning and participated in various cultural activities in the afternoon. We visited Dublin, the green landscapes and the historic castles of the area. I met people from all over the world and I improved my English significantly. It was a perfect
opportunity to learn while having fun.

Arianna Attadia 1C LL

I improved my language a lot by speaking with my host family. It was a very funny and beautiful week.

Ludovica Crippa 1C LL
In Ireland I was fine, I took responsibility by taking public transport alone in another country where I have never been. I really enjoyed both the experience and Ireland in general. If I could, I would do it again.

Giorgia Rizzi 1C LL
I think this experience helped me a lot, both to improve my English and to improve as a person. The host family was very kind and I had a great time. I also think that taking the bus alone made me more responsible. I really enjoyed this experience, with my classmates and the people from the other class. I had no problems and I got along well with everyone.

Nicole Perea 1C LL
